Nicki Minaj Reportedly ’100 Percent Confirmed’ to Judge ‘American Idol’
Aug 20, 2012

Following a story in The Hollywood Reporter on Friday that Nicki Minaj was a strong candidate to join Mariah Carey behind the judges’ table on “American Idol,” Us Weekly reported that it’s a done deal.
Two sources told Us Weekly that Minaj will get the job, with an insider telling the magazine, “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it. A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.” Another source told the magazine that the rapper is “100 percent confirmed to judge ‘American Idol.’”
So far, Fox has yet to comment on the report.
The Hollywood Reporter initially said Minaj might have a problem landing the “American Idol” job because she has an endorsement deal with Pepsi, and “Idol” is sponsored by Coke.

Lil Wayne Gives Nicki Minaj Control Of Dedication 4 Freestyle
Aug 17, 2012
Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 mixtape will be released next week after a brief delay, and fans can definitely expect a feature from Nicki Minaj. Although Nicki and her boss have collaborated plenty in the past, the YMCMB rapper tells MTV News that the process is much different now than it was a few years earlier.
“I usually pick the beat when me and Wayne do something,” she said, explaining how her freestyle came together for the tape. “I went to Miami and I started grilling him like, ‘Hey, why don’t you lecture me anyone?’ and he says, ‘you made it already I ain’t got to tell you sh–.”
“We had this crazy little spat — I actually got on footage and I’ll show the fans really soon,” she continued. “But he’s working on the mixtape and I said, ‘Excuse me, I need to be on that mixtape,’ and he said, ‘Aight, whatever you wanna do.’ So I just went into the other room and recorded on this particular beat that I’m sure my fans are gonna be very happy that I touched. I’m really excited for the kids to hear.”
Nicki Minaj Calls Foxy Brown ‘The Most Influential Female Rapper’
Aug 16, 2012
Nicki Minaj’s transformation from hustling Queens rapper to international pop star has been astounding to watch over the past couple of years, and this week, the YMCMB rapper got to honor the artist she credits most for influencing her at an early age.
Minaj brought Foxy Brown to the stage in New York City this week, calling her “one of my biggest influences in the game.”
Foxy joined Nicki Minaj about an hour into her Tuesday night set at Roseland Ballroom, and she wasted no time telling her fellow Trinidad native that she was “ahead of her time” when she dropped her third solo album, 2001′s Broken Silence. “I really wanna thank you for being one of my biggest influences in the game,” Nicki said onstage, later admitting that the moment was equally special for her and Foxy.
“I never really told Foxy how much she has influenced me and how much she changed my life, and you’ve gotta tell people that when they’re alive to even be able to take the compliment, instead of paying tribute to them when they’re no longer here,” Nicki explained, in a very honest moment. “I never really knew how she felt about me — in the industry, with women, you kinda just tread lightly — and I’m glad I was able to finally come out and say: ‘You were the most influential female rapper to me.‘ “
